We celebrated our silver jubilee in
2009. Celebrations started off with a religious ceremony, a Dhamma
sermon by Ven T. Chandakitti organized at the Siri Vajiragnana
Dharmayathanaya – Maharagama on the exact day of our Anniversary, the
28th of March with a lot of our loyal customer friends whom we invited.
Which followed a Sangika Dana for 25 Buddhist priests at our showroom.
The next function was held at the BMICH- Hall B on the 5th of April
2009, where 25 of our brave differently abled soldiers who were the
chief guests of the occasion. They were gifted with custom made
artificial limbs. A brief introduction of each Soldier was given by our
young Optometrist, Sahani who conducted the ceremony as they were
receiving the gifts on stage. They were also given a bag of goodies
brought by most of our customers who wanted to join in this meritorious
act. The Children of these brave men were also gifted with stationary
and toys to suit their ages.

Director General of Home Guards-Vice Admiral Sarath Weerasekara, Dr.
(Mrs) Goonasinghe, Dr. D.B.K De Silva, Dr.(Mrs) Geetha Munasinghe, Ms.
C.K. Abeyratne & Mr. Jayalath Pedris.
Many of our long
standing and loyal customers, friends were invited for this occasion.
With all their busy schedules with Avurudu round the corner they
did not want to miss this event and were with us on that Sunday morning.
Two of our young customers (aspiring) singer friends Kithmini and
Hasini entertained the crowd with a few patriotic songs, backed by
instrumental music which was loved by all and gave the event the needed
upliftment for the occation.
All the invites were treated to
snacks thereafter and the soldiers and their families were entertained
in the VIP room at the BMICH which made them extremely happy. Later they
were treated to lunch as well before leaving for their homes, in
Anuradhapura, Kurunegala and other far away places.
